Racquets
High Strung does not carry an inventory of tennis racquets, but we are able to help individuals in finding discontinued racquets. We have access to a weekly email that is send to all USRSA (United States Racquet Stringers Association) members. This email lists tennis racquets that USRSA members are looking for. We can use this service to request tennis racquets that are out of production, and since we would be purchasing the racquet from other tennis professionals, there is a much less likely chance that the racquet will be a counterfeit knockoff. Many of the more popular racquets made by companies such as; Babolat, Wilson, and Head, that are sold on eBay are cheap knockoffs. If you think you can tell the difference between a real and a fake tennis racquets, look at the following article from the Racquet Sports Industry (RSi):
In our years of stringing we have had our share of fake racquets brought to us. These counterfeit racquets typically are obviously lighter and of inferior quality. In late 2021, we had the misfortune of having a customer bring us two Wilson K Six.One Team racquets that it was determined to be most likely counterfeit knockoffs. In appearance, these counterfeit Wilson K Six.One Team racquets were very well done, but the way the counterfeiters made the handle of the racquets is what gave them away. You can read the details in the following email exchange that came about after we communicated with two USRSA Executives.
It is never fun to inform (usually a new) customer that the racquet they brought to us is a cheap knockoff and will not play at all like the racquet they had intended to purchase. If you stick to purchasing from reputable local or on-line stores and you will be OK.
If you are interested in working with us to find you a particular new or used tennis racquet, please give us a call, and we can see what we can do for you.
